As many as 40 young designers from BlueCrest School of Fashion & Design (SFD) successfully showcased their graduating collection at the second edition of Apaso) Kasa, at the Accra Digital Centre.

‘Apaso) Kasa’, which means ‘scissors talk’ in Twi, took place on April 27, 2019. It is held every year for the final year students in the degree and diploma programmes of SFD. Other than receiving hands-on training on participating in real fashion events, students also interact with buyers, press, artists and other members of the fashion fraternity in Ghana.

Some of the themes that students chose this year included – Ming dynasty in China, Medieval Europe, Rubik’s Cube, Masquerade festivals, African Tribes etc. Talented students showcased their impressive designs as casual wears, evening gowns, wedding gowns, sportswear and avant-garde among others. This graduate showcase is one of the most prestigious fashion shows in Ghana.

SFD’s Academic Head Mr Rajesh K Pillai said, “More than 300 people attended the second edition of Apaso) Kasa, including professional fashion photographers and media persons. Such an idea platform offers unrestricted exposure to our future designers to showcase their creativity to the world. Our students used whatever knowledge they had acquired during the duration of their course.
